Common name for this plant is: Crystal Anthurium

Anthurium crystallinum ‘Silver Blush’ is a species of plant in the family Araceae.  It is native to tropical regions of Central and South America.  Is a hard to find plant and is one of the most sought-after hybrids, grown for its heart-shaped, dark velvety green leaves and stunning silver pattern, new growth gives a hint of pink, giving it a unique appearance.

This plant is cousin to the adored Anthurium crystallinum, with the biggest difference is the Silver blush’s pattern is silver in stead of white.  To add to its beauty, it produces small, greenish-yellow flowers on long spikes in the spring and summer months, typically between April and August. However, the specific blooming time may vary depending on the climate and growing conditions.

It is epiphytic plant, meaning it grows attached to branches in the rainforest, therefore it gets much of its food and nutrients from rain, leaf debris and other resources that surround it.

It is an exotic houseplant with distinct features that make it stand out.

The plant thrives in warm, humid conditions with indirect light, and well-draining soil. This plant loves moisture and does need regular watering. Although, overwatering will make the plant roots soggy and could cause it to die.

Anthurium crystallinum will last for several years, as long as it’s properly taken care of, although it does grow slowly.
