Delosperma echinatum (Pickle Plant)


The Delosperma echinatum is commonly known as the Pickle Plant and Ice Plant. It is a shrubby plant which is often misidentified as a cactus. The Pickle plant is a flowering succulent native to South Africa and has plump, hairy green leaves that resemble pickles!  It produces starburst-like yellow flowers.  It works well as a houseplant or in a container garden.

Plant care

Pot size: 12cm - Height (including pot): 16cm approx.

Full sunlight

Drought-tolerant. Allow the soil to dry completely between watering.

The temperature suitable for the growth of this plant is between 15℃ and 25℃.

Average UK household humidity levels are fine for this plant.

Considered non-toxic for cats and dogs. Feed once every 2 – 3 months during the growing season. Remove withered flowers after flowering.
