Hoya kerrii

£22.00£34.99

The Hoya kerrii is commonly known as Lucky-heart, Valentine hoya or Sweetheart wax plant and it is a type of Hoya appropriately named for its thick, succulent, heart-shaped leaves. Like other Hoya varieties, the sweetheart hoya plant is a stunning, low-maintenance vining succulent. Although the plant is relatively slow-growing, it appreciates a hanging basket, where it eventually becomes a bushy mass of green hearts. This plant belongs to the Apocynaceae family and is native to Asia.

A unique characteristic is that you can plant a single heart-shaped leaf in a small pot, planting it in well-draining soil, giving it moderate water and placing it in a bright, direct light spot!

We use 100% recyclable packaging, using FSC Certified cardboard boxes but if you are happy to have your order packaged in pre-used packaging, please tick this box.

Plant care

Pot size 10cm – Height (including pot): 20cm approx.

Bright, indirect light.

It needs very little water and let it dry out slightly between waterings. Hoya kerrii can withstand long periods of drought thanks to their thick, water-storing leaves.

Normal UK room temperatures between 18°C – 27°C are fine for this plant.

Typical household humidity levels are acceptable for Hoya kerrii, but they will thrive with extra humidity.

It is non-toxic and safe to have around pets and young children. When this plant is getting ready to grow new leaves or flowers, it will grow out long vines that are often bare for a while. We recommend not to cut these vines unless you are trying to control growth. Eventually they will grow leaves or flowers!
