This astonishing rare plant is also called a Maze plant or Ant Plant. Stunning green foliage sits on a thick trunk. In its native habitat the trunk of the plant has a network of corridors where ants live in. Both the plant and ants’ benefit from this set up, as they both provide nutrients for each other. Do not worry about the ants because as a houseplant they have been evicted!
Plant care
Pot size 12cm - Height (including pot): 20cm approx
Needs light, but not direct sunlight.
Allow the soil to dry out between watering and then give it a light water. You do not want excess damp around the base of the trunk.
Ideal temperatures should be around 18°C - 26°C.
This plant will tolerate normal home humidity levels but will be happy with a slight raise in humidity. You could use the pebble tray method or a slight mist every now and then!
