Opunitia microdasys is a species of flowering plant in the cactus family cactaceae. It is commonly known as Angel’s Wings, Bunny Ears or Polka Dot cactus. This plant has oval-shaped pads that grow in pairs, and has white glochids in dense clusters. It has become a popular houseplant because it is easy to take care of and has a cute appearance, but do not be fooled by this as the tiny hairs detach and can cause skin irritation, so they need to be handled with care!

Pot size: 17cm - height (including pot): 45cm approx.
Opunitia microdasys likes high light areas and direct sunlight is not a problem for this plant. During winter, when these plants go into a resting period, you can move it to a slightly cooler spot with a bit less direct sun.
Allow the soil to dry completely between watering.
Normal household temperatures are fine for Opunitia microdasys.
Opunitia microdasys prefers low humidity conditions.
This prickly plant is not poisonous but best to keep it out of reach, as the tiny prickles can cause irritation to our furry friends if swallowed! Gloves are essential when handling this cactus! If you do have some outdoor space, consider moving this plant outside during the warmer months for optimum growth.
