Pilea hitchcockii is a real must for all plant enthusiasts with its beautiful striking appearance in which the leaves are coloured with a mix of silver, dark purple and red. Pilea hitchcockii is native to Central Ecuador, where the plant grows in mossy mountain forests.

Plant care

Pot size: 11cm - Height (including pot): 17cm approx.

Medium-light conditions.

This plant likes slightly moist soil and water when the topsoil feels dry.

Normal UK household temperatures are fine for this plant but will not thrive below 10°C.

Pileas like high humidity between 60-90%, and do well in terrariums. Mist regularly if your air is dry.

Members of the genus Pilea are not considered toxic to cats, dogs, and humans. Feed once a month in the growing season.
